Given that the UK has one of the highest levels of occupational segregation by gender in the EU, toys like this aren't doing kids a favour. Just better hope your daughter doesn't expect to become a doctor!
Hello Old Thing, that picture raised a smile and reminded me of something I got sent.
In a recent mail from the BMA it was noted that the current M:F ratio for medical students in now 40:60
Its still 5:95 for nurses though, so maybe those toys would've been more accurate if they were both female...?
On a more amused note, may I ask if you chose the comment-verification words yourself because entering the word 'COOTIES' for the pleasure of leaving a message on a gender-blog is just too good?
